Pomerol

Located on the right bank, with 800 ha Pomerol is the smallest wine producing area in the Bordeaux region. There are 131 wineries, all are small estates, the smallest one only 2 hectares, but here the wine is not cheap. The production capacity for Pomerol wines only take up 15% in total Saint Emilion, but which is the small wine area to produce the most valuable rare wine both in Bordeaux, even in the world to date.

Character: Full-bodied wine with rich scents, release excellent ripe red berries, licorice and dried fruit aroma, exclusive velvety quality, bottled after 15 years at peak.
Pomerol is the wine producing area that truly rose abruptly since 70s. Jean-Pierre Moueix, called “JPM” for short, the owner of Petrus made a big contribution to Pomerol’s success. The Moueix family together with the two Rothschild families of Lafite and Mouton on the left bank to compose three overlords of Bordeaux. Chateau Petrus is Pomerol king wine, but also is the king wine of the entire Bordeaux. Its rival was the Chateau Le Pin, which abruptly rose in 1979. Other famous estates are: Chateau Lafleur, Chateau Trotanoy, Chateau Lafleur Petrus, Chateau Latour A Pomerol etc...
