History This estate goes back to 1784,it is the only remaining vineyard in commune of Gradignan. It belonged to the lords of Pomiers under the former regime. Then the area has experienced in the nineteenth century various owners, including a dealer, Alfred Morton, who has the vineyard after 1870,and he planted the first vines there in 1873. The castle date from this period. In 1988, the property is for sale. It was acquired by the municipality, which began as the rescue of the last vineyards of the commune. Now it is owned by Mr. Bernard Magrez, who’s the same owner of the famous Pape Clement. Today this very good raw Pessac displays a beautiful health and has approximately 13 acres across the municipality. Nowadays’ owner:Bernard Magrez Vineyard magnate Bernard Magrez, whose holdings encompass 21 properties in the Bordeaux region, including legendary Chateau Pape-Clement, and 11 other properties throughout the world, is the man behind this little superstar of a wine. As with all of his properties, everything is done by hand with the help of oenologist consultant Michel Rolland. They make a fabulously rich and concentrated wine from poor soil that is made for winegrowing.
