History
J. De Telmont is one of the last remaining genuine family-run Champagne producers. In the Maison J. De Telmont, generations follow generations, mixing together, exchanging ideas, each one adding something special through innovation, leaving their mark, all united through the same passion: wine and the vine. Perpetuating the family character of this Champagne business is the sole guarantee for preserving and respecting the high quality it has acquired through many generations.

With its extensive facilities, the Maison J. de Telmont is in a constant state of evolution. It has managed to preserve and cultivate the traditions of the artisans who built Champagne’s reputation while at the same time incorporating efficient technological advances in a completely natural process. Henry Lhopital, its founder, established the company in 1912 when he began making wine from the product of his initial hectares. In 1918 Henri decided to sell his products on the open market. He was one of Champagnes first pioneers to become a 'manipulant' having previously just been a grower. In 1945 a new era began with Henri's son Andre at the helm. Andre increased the size of their vineyard by acquiring land covered by the appellation which had been abandoned since the Champagne crisis of 1929. The family enjoyed constant increases in sales and they registered the brand 'J.de Telmont' in 1949. In 1956 Andre's son Serge followed in his fathers and grandfathers footsteps. The family again increased the size of their property in 1956 and again in 1968. They were truly making their mark in the Champagne region and becoming a well respected house with a long family tradition.Today the company is headed by Bertrand Lhopital. The house now boasts several generations of the Lhopital family.

On the banks of the Marne River, 5 kilometres from Epernay, the capital of the Champagne region. The hills slope gently towards the south and south-east, ideally exposed to the sunshine, enhancing the grapes taste and fragrance. The brand’s search for quality is as demanding as that of the greatest champagne houses. By establishing a demanding quality charter, the Maison J. De Telmont is engaging future generations to respect their heritage. The Maison J. De Telmont is proud to market one million three hundred and fifty thousand bottles using the latest technology in an unceasing quest for the finest quality whilst respecting the environment. J. De Telmont uses very strict environmentally-related technical specifications. Its remarkable technical facilities give it a 1.35 million bottle capacity.

Cuvees Prestiges
Champagne J. DE Telmont O.R.1735 : The result of house’s creative imagination, the O.R.1735 cuvee, combines all the savoir faire of Champagne through the selection of terroirs, the expression of Chardonnay grapes grown in the best villages, and a long aging process in our cellars under cork. A genuine moment of history, in itself this cuvee represents 200 years of Champagne history. Opening a bottle takes you on a journey back in time, as you discover all the know-how of Dom Perignon and taste a Champagne found all too rarely nowadays.
Champagne J. DE Telmont Couronnement: Prestige vintage from a magnificent year. Made up exclusively of selected white Chardonnay grapes. This exceptional cuvee was obtained from a selection of the best Cote de Blancs crus. After a meticulous choice of the finest grapes, only the premiere cuvee obtained from the first pressing was used in its composition. The nobility of its origins, its slow production in the purest Champagne tradition and an aging process bringing it up to its apogee, all make this an exceptional vintage that “crowns” our production, and indisputably gives it a place of honour among the top Champagnes. It is reserved for only the most dedicated connoisseurs. Produced by J.De Telmont.
Champagne J. DE Telmont Consecration: They selected the finest Chardonnay crus (Chouily, Avize), grown as Grand Crus. Only the quintessence is retained in the selection of wines made with these grapes. Complete vinification in oak casks bring out the final expression of these two terroirs. Discovering this cuvee means tasting a Champagne that is not found every day. It is reserved for informed champagne lovers looking for an exclusive cuvee.

Champagne J. DE Telmont Blanc de Blancs:
The result of our constant search for perfection. The Consecration cuvee has pushed our limits out ever further. Part of our quest lay in selecting the finest Chardonnay crus (Chouilly. Avize), grown as Grand Crus. Only the quintessence is retained in the selection of wines made with these grapes. Complete vinification in oak casks brings out the final expression of these two terroirs. Discovering this cuvee means tasting a Champagne that is not found every day. It is reserved for informed champagne lovers looking for a exclusive cuvee.
Champagne J. DE Telmont Grand Vintage: The wealth of qualities found in a Champagne produced with the grapes from a single great year make it ideal for aging. Made up exclusively of premiere cuvee white Pinot Noirs, Meunier and Chardonnay.

Champagne J. DE Telmont Grand Rose Brut: Savouring a J.de Telmont Rose is like taking a bite out of a delicious piece of fruit. We attain this sensation through our selection of old Pinot vines, a partial saignee to preserve the fruit’s aromatic potential, and assembly with Chardonnay grapes.
Champagne J. DE Telmont Grande Reserve Brut: This Brut Champagne (which also comes as a Demi-sec) is the result of a subtle marriage of three Champagne varietals: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Generally made up of wines from different years (reserve wines).

Champagne J. DE Telmont Grand Rose Brut: The transparency of its bottle delicately highlights the tender pink colour of its body. Made from a careful selection of Pinots ripened to perfection and meticulously destalked, this highly elegant champagne exudes wild berry aromas. The colour is raspberry pink with light salmon reflections. Nice, long-lasting mousse with fine bubbles. The initial nose reveals citrus fruit notes (grape fruit and lemon).
