Tasting Note: |
Wine Advocate #176 (5/2008) Rating: 91 points Drink: 2013-2027
Sweet, toasty, oaky notes interwoven with hints of black olives, blackberries, cassis, and spice box are found in this densely saturated ruby/purple-hued 2005. While rich, with impressive concentration and purity, it is also tannic, full-bodied, and painfully backward and foreboding. This is another long-term prospect that will require patience. –Robert Parker
Wine Spectator (3/31/2008) Score: 87
Tar, dark chocolate and blackberry aromas follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate, with soft tannins and a delicate finish. Has a wonderful nose, but this falls a little short. The second wine of Lagrange. Best after 2009. 33,330 cases made. –JS

Tasted by stevewino on 11/30/2008 & rated 90 points: Opened about 30 minutes before drinking- dark in color, with good nose, earthy tones and fruit coming through, long finish and good structure- This is already very good, but should get much better with age
