Tasting Note: |
Wine Advocate # 134(2001-4) Rating:(88-90) Drink 2005 - 2020
The 1999 is a soft, luscious yet concentrated effort with low acidity, sweet tannin, and excellent, possibly outstanding concentration as well as complexity. It, too, will require 4 - 5 years of cellaring (unusual for a 1999), but it will keep for two decades. -Robert Parker
Wine Spectator (3/31/2002) Score:90
Loads of floral, berry and mineral character on the nose. Full-bodied, with loads of layered tannins and fruit and a long, long finish. Big wine. Best after 2005. 7,080 cases made. –JS
Decanter Rating:
Berry fruits are folded in with a gentler hand here than for 1999 Leoville-Barton, but there's still plenty of supple substance. |
