Tasting Note: |
Wine Advocate#164 (4/2006) Rating: 90 points Drink: 2010-2025
A sleeper of the vintage, the dense blue/purple-colored 2003 Lafon-Rochet exhibits plenty of blackberry, cassis and graphite along with a touch of toasty new oak. The wine is more backward than expected, but it possesses full-bodied, concentrated flavors as well as good elegance, purity, and overall equilibrium. This is a long-distance runner. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2025. -Robert Parker
Wine Spectator (3/31/2006) Score: 90
Very exciting aromas of crushed blackberry and lightly smoky barrels. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a medium finish. A bit tight but balanced. 10,555 cases made. –JS
Decanter Rating:
Submerged, almost fully concealed with glimmers of oak and spice. Succulent fruit across a firm, tannic frame. Not for the faint-hearted. Drink 2012-26. |
