Tasting Note: |
Wine Advocate #158 (4/2005) Rating: 90 points Drink: 2011-2020+
Cedar, burning embers, licorice, black currants, and espresso notes jump from the glass of this dense ruby/purple-colored, firm, tannic, powerful, and muscular style of Clerc-Milon. Quite virile, a bit angular, but at the same time packed and stacked, full and concentrated, this impressive blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot actually has higher alcohol (13.2%) than the2003. -Robert Parker
Wine Spectator (3/31/2005) Score: 89
This shows good blackberry, licorice and tobacco aromas. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a medium finish. Needs time to mellow. Best after 2008. 6,665 cases made. –JS
Decanter Rating:
Deep, intense colour, big meaty wine with tobacco aromas, quite powerful and solidly Pauillac, showing sturdiness rather than florality, but good long term. Drink 2008-20 |
