Tasting Note: |
Wine Advocate#165 (6/2006) Rating: 89-90 points Drink: 2007-2020
The dense ruby/purple-tinged 2004 Carruades de Lafite (48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot) exhibits sweet, crunchy, savory, black cherry, and raspberry fruit along with hints of road tar, spring flowers, and a touch of minerality. Give it 1-2 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 12-13. -Robert Parker
Wine Spectator (3/31/2007) Score: 87
Aromas of currant and smoky wood follow through to a full-bodied palate, with chewy tannins and a medium finish. Slightly hollow midpalate, but still very good. Best after 2010. 26,665 cases made. –JS
Decanter Rating:
Fine deep colour, lovely fragrant nose with lifted blackcurrant fruit, quite fleshy extraction, yet very fresh, smooth and balanced, a really lovely, classically harmonious wine. Drink 2009-18. (17 points) |
