Tasting Note: |
Wine Advocate#153 (6/2004) Rating: 88 points Drink: 2006-2014
From a property that seems to be improving, the dark ruby/purple-tinged 2001 offers copious amounts of cedar, spice box, black currant, and forest floor scents in its distinctively earthy personality. While delicate, it reveals cunning power underneath the subtle flavors. Medium-bodied and moderately tannic, it should be at its best between 2006-2014. -Robert Parker
Wine Spectator (3/31/2004) Score: 87
Very pretty aromas of chocolate and berries follow through to a medium-bodied palate, with silky tannins and a delicious finish. Yummy wine. Already enjoyable to drink. Best after 2006. 12,500 cases made. –JS
Decanter Rating:
Very deep intense, purply colour, good concentration, good tobacco-y/cassis fruit, quite soft in the middle and has not quite the finesse expected after the nose. (Tasted en primeur) |
