Tasting Note: |
Wine Advocate #153 (6/2004) Rating: 92 points Drink: 2005-2016
A dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by ripe aromas of spring flowers, blueberries, blackberries, and cassis. Medium-bodied, stylish, and elegant, with sweet tannin, impressive concentration, tremendous persistence as well as flavor intensity, and a 40+ second finish.-Robert Parker
Wine Spectator (3/31/2004) Score: 90
Intense aromas of blackberries, licorice and earth. Full-bodied, with lots of smoky oak and medium ripe fruit. A wine that is well-constructed, modern and interesting. One of the best Lascombes I have tasted. American-owned. Best after 2007. 18,625 cases made. –JS
Decanter Rating:
Very full, intense colour and very rich on the glass. Richly extracted, a little massive and meaty, but good violetty fruit behind the weight, very rich, almost sweet on the palate, low acidity, soft and full-bodied, lots of ripe fruit, but lacks real complexity and length. |
