Tasting Note: |
Chateau Taste (6/2004):
The first tastings after the end of the fermentations were rather disappointing; the wines showed little in the way of aromas and on the palate they were quiet short. As the ageing in barrels proceeded, their nose developed, becoming more refined and today it is particularly attractive. They have also gained an extra dimension on the palate, which we had not expected, and have almost taken on the fatness and length we find in great vintages. What a pleasant surprise! It is the first time we have seen a white wine develop in this way before our very eyes. The bottling took place at the beginning of June. We are looking forward to the next developments of this atypical vintage…
Wine Advocate #164(4/2006) Rating: 87 points
The 2003, which is not a great vintage for most dry white Bordeaux (because of the heat), is somewhat soft and flat. It reveals honeysuckle, pineapple, and more exotic fruit characteristics than the classic 2004. -Robert Parker
Wine Spectator (2/28/2007) Score: 93
Bright aromas of apple, lemon and pie tart. Full-bodied, with a waxy texture and a rich, fruity finish. A solid wine. Best after 2008. –JS
