Tasting Note: |
Wine Advocate #158 (4/2005) Rating: 89 points Drink: 2007-2017
A sleeper of the vintage from proprietor Bernard Magrez, the 2002 exhibits a deep plum/purple color, a sweet nose of tobacco-infused creme de cassis fruit, espresso roast, and white chocolate, dense, medium-bodied flavors, ripe tannin, and impressive concentration as well as length. -Robert Parker
Wine Spectator (3/31/2005) Score: 87
Very fruity on the nose, with ripe currant and berry aromas. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a twist of vanilla on the finish. Nicely done. Best after 2006. 13,330 cases made. –JS
Decanter Rating:
Smoky, blackcurrant bouquet, quite animally and rich. New wood present, big fleshy modern style. Very good for vintage, plummy and long. Drink 2008-13. |
