Tasting Note: |
Wine Advocator #140 (4/2002) Rating: 89 points Drink: 2004-2015
This 1999 is performing well, with more power and depth after bottling than before. It exhibits a dense ruby color as well as a sweet nose of pure black cherry jam intermixed with hints of raspberry, new wood, and earth. It is surprisingly powerful for a 1999, with admirable ripeness, sweet tannin, and low acidity. Two to three years of cellaring is warranted. - Robert Parker
Wine spectator(3/31/2002)Score range: 88
Fresh and bright aromas of crushed berries and minerals. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a fresh, fruity aftertaste. Best after 2003. 4,165 cases made. –JS
Decanter Rating:
Fine-grained Pomerol breathes violets over its currant-plum fruit and silky tannins. |
