A gentle, refined mousse sets the stage for bread dough, peach and citrus notes. It's round, yet bright and balanced, yielding to a chalklike feel on the finish. Really unfolds gracefully. Drink now through 2018.–BS

Only five vintages produced so far of this very special cuvee, made in particularly special years in very small quantities. This is rich and luxurious, an excellent food champagne, or one to just indulge in on its own. "Hints of jasmin and magnolia, with suggestions of cinnamon and vanilla, together with touches of grilled almonds and caramel on the nose. On the palate, complex fruit flavors, fig, apricot, dried fruits and vanilla, with some caramel and ginger notes. Sweet spice touches on the finish"

With first notes of jasmine and magnolia, touches of vanilla and truffle, with some apricot grilled almond and caramel hints, this is truly a wonderful wine with a long intense finish. The 1998 vintage Josephine invites a grand gastronomic experience, with ravioli packed with foie gras, or lobster risotto, or a beautiful sea bass. |
